MHA orders withdrawal of over 7,000 paramilitary personnel from Kashmir

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday decided to withdraw 72 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) from Jammu&Kashmir with immidiate effect. One such company has about 100 personnel. This includes 24 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force, 12 each of Border Security Force (BSF) Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

These units drawn from the CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and the SSB were sent to the Kashmir Valley after the Centre abrogated Article 370 provisions in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5th , this year.

About 20 such companies were withdrawn from the valley early this month.
