JKAACL organises Punjabi Kavi Darbar at Attina Beerwah

Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organised a Punjabi Kavi Darbar at Attina, Beerwah, Budgam, with the active participation of local literary enthusiasts and members of the younger generation.

 

The programme was attended by Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi, S. Prehlad Singh, Master T.P. Singh, and other distinguished guests. A large number of Punjabi-speaking residents of the area also participated in the event.

 

Welcoming the gathering, S. Prehlad Singh, a prominent social and literary figure, appreciated JKAACL for organising a literary programme in the rural area of Attina. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting Punjabi language, literature, and cultural heritage among the younger generation.

 

In his address, Popinder Singh Paras highlighted the Academy’s sustained efforts to promote Punjabi literature and culture across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the remote areas of the Kashmir Division. He stated that the Academy is committed to organising literary and cultural programmes in regions with a significant Punjabi-speaking population in order to encourage literary activities and strengthen cultural bonds.

 

On the occasion, noted poets and literary figures including Popinder Singh Vaid, Nanak Singh, Manjit Singh Raina, Kulwant Singh Vicky, Harpreet Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Kripal Singh, Suraj Singh, and others recited their Punjabi poems and received appreciation from the audience.

 

The programme concluded on a positive note with participants expressing gratitude to JKAACL for providing a platform to local poets and promoting Punjabi literary activities in the region.
