
A week-long sports event- Cricket Tournament, organized by the Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar under the banner of the ongoing 100 Day “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan” campaign, concluded today at the historic Chowgan Grounds.
The Sports Week was organized to promote physical fitness, team spirit, discipline and awareness among youth regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse.
A total of eight teams participated in the tournament, conducted in two league pools- Pool-A and Pool-B. The matches witnessed great sportsmanship, discipline and excitement among the participants. Three matches were conducted daily as per the schedule communicated by the Incharge Sports.
The final match of the tournament was played between the 6th Semester Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering teams. After an exciting and competitive match, the Mechanical Engineering Department emerged as the winner of the tournament, while the 6th Semester Civil Engineering team secured the runner-up position.
At the concluding ceremony, trophies were given away to winning and runner-up teams. Individual awards, including “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series,” were also presented to deserving players in recognition of their outstanding performance during the tournament.
