
KISHTWAR, MAY 11: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting at the Mini Secretariat, New DC Office to review and discuss the expansion of mobile connectivity (BSNL) to remote and underserved areas of the district.
Chief General Manager (CGM), BSNL J&K Circle Kush Kumar and officials of other departments attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on bridging the communication gap in geographically challenging areas of the district with special emphasis on strengthening mobile network infrastructure in far-flung regions and important pilgrimage routes.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the urgent requirement for reliable mobile connectivity in the high-priority areas, including the pilgrimage routes of Machail Mata Road and Mindal Mata Road as well as remote sub-divisions such as Marwah and Chhatroo.
Responding to the issues raised by the district administration, CGM BSNL J&K, Kush Kumar said that BSNL is in process of expanding and strengthening its network footprint in Kishtwar district. He informed that the installation and commissioning of mobile towers in the identified locations would be expedited.
To ensure timely progress, the CGM directed BSNL technical teams to complete all pending technical and feasibility surveys without further delay. He also instructed the concerned BSNL officers to coordinate closely with Revenue Department officials for expediting the formal handover of land identified for tower installations.
The meeting was attended by Somaiya Challa, Divisional Engineer BSNL Doda; Atul Ghodke, Sub-Divisional Engineer BSNL and Mohammed Arif, Sub-Engineer BSNL.
