GCOE Srinagar organizes Drug Awareness Mural under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

SRINAGAR, APRIL 30: Department of Fine Arts and the Beautification Committee of Government College of Education (GCoE), M.A. Road Srinagar, organized a wall painting under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on the college campus.

The mural was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, Principal of the College, in the presence of faculty members including Prof. Mohd Yaseen Pir, Prof. Nashid Naseem, Prof. Lateef Shah, Prof. Bilquees, Prof. Mansoor Lone, Prof. Abdul Gani Kumar, Prof. Syed Shaban, Prof. Abdul Rashid, Prof. Showkeen Bial, and other staff members.

The artwork was created by B.Ed. students of  College Shayad Rashid  and Mukhtar Ahmad under the supervision of Arshid Sualeh. The mural highlights the ill effects of drug abuse and conveys a strong message of prevention, awareness, and collective responsibility towards building a drug-free society.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz appreciated the creative efforts of the students and lauded the initiative as a meaningful contribution towards the national campaign against drug abuse. She emphasized that such activities not only enhance artistic expression but also play a vital role in shaping social responsibility among future teachers.

Faculty members present on the occasion also praised the initiative and encouraged students to continue using art as a medium for social awareness and positive change. They reiterated the importance of educational institutions in guiding youth away from substance abuse and towards constructive engagement.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the Department of Fine Arts, the Beautification Committee, supervising faculty, and the student artists for successfully executing the awareness initiative.
