Unity Marathon taken out in Doda to promote drug-free society

DODA, APRIL 25: The District Administration Doda on Saturday organized a Marathon-cum-Unity Rally to promote Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.

The rally was flagged off by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Krishan Lal here from Government Higher Secondary School (Boys). After passing different parts of the town, the march culminated at Government Degree College (GDC).

A large number of students, youth, officials and members of civil society participated enthusiastically, raising the slogan “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life.”

Carrying placards and banners, participants highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of adopting positive life choices. The rally showcased strong public unity and collective determination to eradicate the menace of drugs from the district.

 Speaking on the occasion, the DDC emphasized the importance of sustained awareness campaigns and active community participation in tackling drug abuse. He urged students to act as ambassadors of change and remain vigilant, not only for themselves but also for their peers. He stated that students are the future of the nation and play a crucial role in promoting awareness, guiding others and building a responsible and drug-free society.

The event was conducted smoothly with coordinated efforts of line departments. The Traffic Police ensured proper regulation along the route, while the Police Department maintained security and discipline throughout the programme.
