ADDC Shopian reviews progress of social security & government sponsored schemes in district

SHOPIAN, APRIL 04: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone today chaired a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat, Shopian to assess the progress achieved under various Government Sponsored Schemes and Social Security Schemes in the district.

A detailed review of scheme wise performance was carried out, with particular focus on enrollment under key schemes including PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PMJDY and disbursement under Mission YUVA, PMEGP, and other beneficiary oriented programmes.

During the deliberations, the ADDC emphasized the need for efficient, transparent, and target driven implementation of all schemes to ensure timely delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

ADDC directed all Bank Branch Heads to ensure prompt and hassle free disbursement of sanctioned cases without any hindrance, stressing that delays at any stage are unacceptable. He urged banks to adopt a proactive and facilitative approach, particularly in cases related to self employment and livelihood generation schemes.

Further, the ADDC instructed all concerned departments and banks to strengthen coordination and maintain regular follow ups to improve disbursement performance and resolve bottlenecks in a time bound manner.

Highlighting accountability, the ADDC directed officers to identify gaps, streamline processes, and take corrective measures for enhancing outreach and effectiveness of the schemes.

The meeting was attended by General Manager, DIC Shopian, Shurjil Naik, along with officers from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, NRLM, Fisheries, Sericulture, Employment, other concerned and representatives of banking institutions.
