Review meeting held on Digital Crop Survey Implementation in Bandipora

BANDIPORA, MARCH 08: A review meeting regarding the implementation of the Digital Crop Survey was held at Mini Secretariat Bandipora , which was chaired virtually by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to assess the progress and preparedness for the survey in the district.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani, District Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Tehsildar Bandipora, Block Development Officers, Naib Tehsildars, Patwaris, besides Nodal Officers, Master Trainers and Supervisors/Enumerators associated with the survey process.

During the meeting, an overview of the Digital Crop Survey was presented and key features of the mobile application being used for data collection were highlighted. It was informed that 60 villages have been selected for the survey in the district and the exercise will be completed within a timeline of 40 days.

The Digital Crop Survey is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at collecting real-time and accurate data on crop sown area and crop conditions using digital technology. The initiative is expected to enhance transparency, support evidence-based agricultural planning and facilitate efficient implementation of various farmer welfare schemes.

During the review, emphasis was laid on coordinated efforts among all concerned departments and field functionaries to ensure smooth and timely completion of the survey. All stakeholders were urged to perform their responsibilities with diligence so that the survey is conducted accurately within the stipulated timeframe.

It was also directed that the progress of the survey be shared on a daily basis to enable close monitoring of its implementation across the district.

A training session for Supervisors and Enumerators was also conducted by the District Nodal Officer after the meeting to familiarize participants with the survey process and the use of the Digital Crop Survey mobile application. The session focused on field data collection methods, reporting procedures and adherence to prescribed guidelines to ensure accurate and timely completion of the survey.
