
REASI, MARCH 02: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu organized a one-day FPO Bank/Insurance Interaction programme here today at Chassana. The prominent persons among those present were the members of FPO Konsarnag Farmers Producers Cooperative Ltd.
The programme was organized under the framework of the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) with the objective of strengthening financial inclusion, enhancing credit linkage and creating awareness among Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and individual farmers of the region.
Representatives from J&K Bank Ranjeet Singh Manhas, Crop Insurance Dalip Singh and others engaged directly with FPO members and individual farmers. They provided detailed information on credit-linked schemes, institutional finance, working capital support and loan products specifically designed for FPOs under JKCIP and Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) to enhance agricultural productivity, value addition and market competitiveness in the region. Farmers actively participated in discussions on access to finance, collateral requirements, interest subvention, repayment mechanisms and the role of banks in supporting agribusiness and allied activities. The programme was coordinated by the FPO Development Officer, Rakesh Kundal.
