One-day capacity building training-cum-sensitisation on IDSP held at Doda

DODA, FEBRUARY 12: A one-day Capacity Building Training-cum-Sensitisation programme for healthcare workers of District Doda on the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was held at Government Nursing College Doda.

The training programme was organised by the District Surveillance Unit (IDSP) Doda, under the banner of the District Health Society Doda, with the objective of strengthening disease surveillance and response mechanisms at all levels.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Tanveer Ahmed Rather and was attended by healthcare workers from various cadres including MLHPs, Laboratory Technicians, MMPHWs, FMPHWs, ASHA Facilitators, Pharmacists and ASHAs from all medical blocks of the district.

The training was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare workers in areas such as early disease detection, timely reporting, prompt intervention and effective implementation of IDSP activities at peripheral as well as institutional levels.

The programme was conducted in multiple sessions. The welcome session was addressed by CMO Doda Dr Tanveer Ahmed Rather, who briefed the participants about the objectives and importance of IDSP in public health surveillance.

Subsequently, technical sessions on various IDSP-related topics were conducted by Dr Safia Khan (Associate Professor Department of Microbiology GMC Doda), Dr Sumat-ul-Khurshid (HOD Department of Pathology GMC Doda), Dr Abdul Gafoor (BMO Ghat), Dr Nasir Masood Indrabi, Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), who shared their expertise and practical insights with the participants.

An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, enabling participants to clarify their doubts and discuss field-level challenges related to disease surveillance and reporting.

The programme concluded with a strong emphasis on coordinated efforts and active participation of healthcare workers to ensure effective implementation of IDSP across the district.
