BHADERWAH, FEBRUARY 12: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal chaired a review meeting to finalise arrangements for the upcoming “Snow Marathon – Run for Martyrs”. The event is being organised by KHOONKHAR 4RR in collaboration with the district administration Doda and Bhaderwah Development Authority.
The Snow Marathon, scheduled for 16 February 2026, will cover a distance of 5 kilometres. The race will commence from Chinta at 9 am and conclude at Jai Ghati. The marathon aims to pay tribute to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation, promoting a spirit of patriotism and unity among participants.
The ADC reviewed arrangements including security, medical facilities, route management, snow clearance and coordination among departments to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
The meeting was attended by Major Abhishek Giri of 4RR, SDPO Bhaderwah Naveed Shokat Qazi, BMO Bhaderwah Dr Varsha Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Parampreet Singh, AEE JDDCL Arif Manzoor, ZEPO Vijay Kotwal, stakeholders and representatives from MCB, PWD, Government Boys Higher Secondary School and Government Girls Higher Secondary School along with other concerned departments.
Registration for the marathon is open for all. Participants will be awarded medals and certificates and attractive prizes have also been announced. The event carries the theme “Feel the Snow, Feel the Pride” and encourages citizens to join the run for honour and patriotism.
The ADC emphasised coordinated efforts among all departments to make the Snow Marathon a grand success and a memorable tribute to the nation’s heroes.
