ADDC Shopian presides over two-day cluster level workshop to strengthen quality GPDP implementation

SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 12: Rural Development Department (RDD) Shopian today organised a two-day cluster level workshop on quality Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian to generate awareness and enhance capacity at the grassroots level for effective and participatory planning.

The workshop was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone who emphasised the pivotal role of GPDP as a people-centric and need-based planning tool for holistic rural development. He underscored the importance of convergence, transparency and community participation in framing realistic and impactful development plans at the Gram Panchayat level.

Detailed deliberations were held on sector-wise planning, prioritisation of local needs, fund convergence and timely execution of developmental works.

Experts sensitised the participants on aligning GPDP with flagship schemes and ensuring inclusiveness, sustainability and accountability in Panchayat planning.

The workshop concluded with a commitment to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure quality implementation of GPDP across all Gram Panchayats of the district.

ACD, Shopian, Muzaffar Ahmed, officers from Agriculture, Social Welfare, Rural Development and other allied departments were present.
