World Unani Day Celebrated at Kulgam

KULGAM, FEBRUARY 11: A day long seminar-cum-awareness programme was today organized by the AYUSH Department Kulgam at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, to mark World Unani Day.

The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.

On the occasion, the DC appreciated the efforts of the AYUSH Department Kulgam in promoting traditional systems of healthcare and urged the department to further strengthen its services across the district.

He also complimented the department for achieving NABH accreditation for several Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

During the programme, speakers and experts from the AYUSH Department highlighted the objectives and historical significance of World Unani Day and said that the day is observed on the birth anniversary of renowned scholar Hakim Ajmal Khan, who made significant contributions to the development and promotion of the Unani system of medicine.

District Nodal Officer AYUSH also presented the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the AYUSH Department in Kulgam.

Later, doctors, paramedics, and former staff members were felicitated for their dedicated service and valuable contributions to the AYUSH sector in the district.
