District Administration Ramban organises One Day Workshop on ‘Safer Internet Day’

RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 10: The District Administration Ramban today organized a one day workshop on the occasion of Safer Internet Day 2026, at Ramban to sensitise officers, officials and students about responsible internet usage, cyber safety and digital awareness.

 

The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan and witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior officers, officials, locals, students and other stakeholders. Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, was also present on the occasion. The programme featured expert insights from Tehsildar Headquarters, Reejuta Mahajan and Network Engineer, NIC Ramban, Shubam Gupta, who served as key speakers and highlighted the importance of safe online behaviour in today’s digital era.

 

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan emphasised the growing role of the internet in education, governance and everyday life, urging participants to use digital platforms responsibly and remain vigilant against cyber threats. He stressed that awareness and education are essential to preventing cybercrime and protecting personal data. He encouraged young users to adopt ethical online practices and seek guidance whenever required.

 

The Deputy Commissioner stated that such events play an important role in promoting digital literacy and cyber awareness among youth. He called upon officers, educational institutions and parents to actively guide young people in understanding online risks, adding that informed and cautious internet usage can greatly enhance opportunities while ensuring safety. He appreciated the organisers for this initiative aimed at empowering youth with essential digital knowledge.

 

During the workshop, Tehsildar Headquarters Reejuta Mahajan delivered an informative session on cyber safety, precautions against online fraud, privacy protection and responsible social media usage. The NIC Engineer also engaged participants in an interactive session, clearing doubts and encouraging participants to raise queries while sharing their perspectives on safe internet practices.
