DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Maha Shivratri Festival at Shiv Khori Temple

POONCH, FEBRUARY 09: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today visited Shiv Khori Temple to review the arrangements for the Maha Shivratri festival, scheduled to be held on February 15, 2026.

The DDC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan; CEO Municipality Khalil Ahmed Banday; DYSP DAR Shashi Kant; Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.

During the visit, the DDC reviewed in detail the arrangements related to water and power supply, sanitation, security, traffic management and Medicare facilities. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts by all departments to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the festival.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officer to establish a medical camp with an ambulance facility at the temple site to handle any emergency situation.

The Executive Engineers were instructed to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply, while the Executive Officer Municipality was asked to make adequate sanitation arrangements in and around the temple premises.

Members of the Temple Committee expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and his team for personally reviewing the festival preparations.

Those present on the occasion were Chairman Shiv Khori Temple Surjeet Singh, President Shiv Khori Mandir Lokesh Anand, President VHP (Yatra Pramukh J&K UT) Nishu Gupta and other prominent citizens.
