
BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 06: The two day training programme for Krishi Udyamis of Bandipora district, organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra KVK Bandipora-1 in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture Bandipora, concluded successfully today.
The programme focused on strengthening agri entrepreneurial skills and promoting scientific and sustainable agricultural practices.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Tariq Sultan, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Bandipora 1. He briefed the participants on the objectives and significance of the training programme. He highlighted the role of Krishi Udyamis in agricultural diversification, value addition, and income enhancement, and emphasized the adoption of modern technologies in agriculture and allied sectors.
Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Javid Iqbal Samoon addressed the participants and shared his professional experience. He highlighted various initiatives and schemes of the Department of Agriculture aimed at supporting agri entrepreneurs. He appreciated the efforts of KVK Bandipora-1 in capacity building and assured continued departmental support.
Subject Matter Specialist Vegetable Science, delivered technical lectures on improved practices in vegetable cultivation and highlighted opportunities in vegetable based enterprises and allied activities.
Subject Matter Specialist Agricultural Extension, delivered technical sessions on extension approaches, government sponsored schemes, and institutional support mechanisms for Krishi Udyamis. He emphasized effective technology transfer and farmer oriented extension services.
Subject Matter Specialist Entomology, delivered a brief presentation on major insect pests, integrated pest management practices, and the importance of scientific pest management for sustainable agriculture.
Resource person from the Department of Agriculture, along with other experts from the Agriculture Department, also delivered lectures on relevant topics related to agri enterprise development and departmental support systems.
A large number of Krishi Udyamis from different areas of Bandipora district participated in the programme. The training witnessed active interaction between scientists, departmental experts, and participants. Issues related to agri enterprise development, market linkages, and adoption of improved agricultural practices were discussed in detail.
The programme concluded successfully, with participants expressing satisfaction over the knowledge gained and appreciating the initiative of Krishi Vigyan Kendra KVK Bandipora-1 in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture Bandipora.
