
KATHUA, JANUARY 16: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of works being executed under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in the district.
The DC reviewed the status of 68 pending MPLADS works across District Kathua and directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of execution and ensure completion of all works at the earliest, strictly as per approved specifications and quality standards.
The DC reiterated the directions of Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, stressing that all sanctioned works under MPLADS and CDF shall be completed within the stipulated time frame so that the benefits of development reach the people in a timely manner.
Reviewing the progress of CDF works, the DC directed departments to ensure speedy clearance of pending approvals, judicious utilisation of funds and close monitoring at the field level.
The DC cautioned that avoidable delays shall be viewed seriously and asked officers to submit regular progress reports to ensure accountability.
