
SAMBA, MAY 13: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan today chaired an Outreach Programme-cum-Block Diwas at border village Chachwal, Block Rajpura under the Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner held a detailed review meeting with the line departments to assess the existing infrastructure and identify the infrastructural gaps in the border village. The local residents projected wide range of demands and issues pertaining to basic amenities and developmental requirements of the area.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances and aspirations of the locals. He directed the concerned departments to take immediate necessary action for prompt redressal of the issues raised during the programme.
Emphasizing the significance of Vibrant Village Programme-II, the DC stressed upon the need for active participation of locals, youth, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and former PRI members in suggesting impactful projects for the socio-economic development of the area. She encouraged the public to work in close coordination with the administration for transforming village Chachwal into a vibrant and self-reliant border village.
The Deputy Commissioner also sensitized the locals to various beneficiary-oriented government schemes and advised them to register for the same to avail benefits aimed at improving their livelihood and living standards.
Further, the designated Village Nodal Officer was directed to maintain close coordination with the local inhabitants and border guarding forces for preparation of the Village Action Plan for village Chachwal under the Vibrant Village Programme-II.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Kasturi Lal; SDM Ghagwal KJS Bali; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Rajpura and officers of the concerned stakeholder departments.
