SAMBA, JANUARY 16: The District Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) Committee meeting was held today at DC Office Samba.
The meeting reviewed the control measures against drug abuse and trafficking in the district and assessed the progress on decisions taken at the previous meeting.
Discussions were held on strengthening Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, functioning of the psychiatric and counseling facility at District Hospital, inspection of chemist shops, strengthening of youth clubs and social organisations, installation of confidential feedback mechanisms in educational institutions and conduct of enforcement drives.
Emphasis was laid on zero-tolerance approach, coordinated inter-departmental action, effective intelligence sharing, community participation and strict enforcement of laws.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Jagdish Singh; ACR, Ajay Bharti; GM DIC, Gurpreet Singh; district heads of the line departments and police officials.
