MAYOR TOURS IN THE OLD JAMMU CITY AREAS

 

Continuing the drive to provide better development as well as basic facilities to the people of Jammu city. Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation  today on29/01/2020 conducted an extensive tour of Peer kho & its adjoining areas of ward no.3 alongwith Sh Rajesh Gupta Ex MLA , Sh Vinay Gupta BJP Distt president , Sh Narotam Sharma Councilor of ward no.3, Sh Gopal Gupta councilor of ward no.5 Sh k.k Kandhari Senior  BJP leader & other prominent citizens of old Jammu city as well as Mahant of peer kho temple and Sh k.S Chib , Director ,Floriculture Parks & Gardens Jammu, Sh Arun Gupta XEN JMC Sh Anil Gupta  AEE, JMC , concerned Junior engineer , filed staff of various section of JMC. Mayor started the walkway from peer kho temple upto panjthirti area alongside of river Tawi which will be constructed at the estimate cost of Rs 4.24 crore . This is the prestigious project of Jammu city lying pending and will be executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation under Amrut scheme within the shortest period of time as told by Mayor to the gatherings. When this pathway get completed people of Jammu city can pay obeisance  in the different temples of Narsima temple, Chandra Gufa, Chintpurani Temple adjoining Peer Kho temple and enjoy morning/evening walk freely from peerkho towards panjthirthi and it will become a best tourist spot also for the tourists. Mayor also directed the Director Floriculture who was accompanying the tour to plant more & more saplings and seasonal flowers, alongwith said pathway near the Tawi River to make the environment eco friendly so that pilgrims who visits in large numbers in the ancient peerkho temple can take benefit of greenery. He also directed the sanitation & electrical section to maintain better sanitation & street lights on the coming holy festival of Maha Shivratri and appeal the people do not throw plastics, polythene & other waste around the peer kho temple and in the river Tawi. Mayor also visited Aggarwati manufacturing unit at peerkho installed by Jammu Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Red cross society Jammu where Aggarwaties are being manufactured by the active lady workers from flowers collected by Jammu Municipal Corporation from different temples of Jammu city on daily basis. This is major project started by the deptt. and this a well come step and has got lot of appreciation from all walks of life.
