A special session has been organized in the assembly regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir (Pahalgam Terrorists Attack) on April 22.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said in the session that this attack is not the first time, we have seen many attacks before this, we have seen attacks on the Yatra camp in Pahalgam, we have seen attacks in Doda, we have seen attacks on the settlements of Kashmiri Pandits, we have seen attacks on the settlements of Sardars. But now such a big attack has happened after 21 years.
CM Abdullah said, “We can control terrorism with guns but cannot eliminate it.”
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday observed two minutes of silence to pay tribute to the 26 people killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
As the special session of the House began, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather condemned the killing of innocent tourists from different parts of the country. He said, ‘We pay tribute to the victims and express our condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.’
The Speaker announced that the House will observe two minutes of silence in honour of those killed in this brutal attack. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary moved a resolution on behalf of the government, expressing deep shock and grief over the barbaric and inhuman attack on the tourists.
