Kathua-Basantgarh: The army’s special forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police shot dead three terrorists in an operation in Kathua district today.
The operation is going on, sources said.

The units involved in the operation are the army’s 1 Para, 22 Garhwal Rifles, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Union Territory’s police.

Security forces are trying to apprehend the terrorists. As soon as the encounter began, the security forces cordoned off the area. The development comes hours after the report about the encounter between terrorists and security forces emerged from the Kathua-Basantgarh border area. According to the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO), based on specific intelligence, security forces began an operation, establishing contact with the terrorists in the region
