Meeting of DGPs of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab in Kathua, Para Commandos landed in the jungle for surgical operation
Jammu 11 July 2024: The search operation of the Indian Army in Badnota of Billawar in district Kathua is continuing at a rapid pace to avenge the sacrifice of its five Indian Soldiers On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir DGP RR Swan, Punjab DGP along with top officials of the army and intelligence agencies have reached the District Police Line Kathua for a meeting.
Sources say that the agencies are holding this meeting to strengthen coordination among themselves. There will be brainstorming in Kathua today on preventing terrorist attacks and security of Amarnath Yatra. After this meeting, a report will be sent to the Home and Defense Ministry.
On the other hand, the police have detained 23 suspects including the tractor driver for questioning. Army para commandos have landed in the jungle for the surgical operation. The help of choppers and drones is also being taken.
Earlier on Wednesday, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Khatyar of Western Command also reached Machedi and took stock of the incident site and the operation. Security forces carried out a massive search operation on the third day on Wednesday to eliminate the terrorists. Despite bad weather and geographical challenges, the security forces remained engaged.
According to senior officials, the forests bordering Kathua as well as Udhampur and Doda districts are also being searched. Senior army officials are constantly monitoring. According to sources, the tractor-trolley driver who was driving just ahead of the army convoy at the time of the attack was also questioned on Wednesday.
Let us tell you that after the grenade attack by terrorists in Badnota, indiscriminate firing was done in which five army soldiers were martyred. Along with this, after the encounter in Doda, the dense forests were searched on the second day as well.
