RIGHT STEP
Conventionally J&K has faced lot of problems as far as exporting the agriculture produce is concerned as the successive governments never paid any heed towards this most vital issue despite the fact that the tiller community used to toil hard for ensuring good yield but at the end received meager returns of what they have grown and harvested. The issue was taken up by the incumbent administration led by LG Manoj Sinha at the highest level and after thorough deliberations it was decided to do take prolific measures to give a push to the agricultural export for giving the due rights to the farmer fraternity and of course J&K which deserves lot more for being a diverse land with unique ways and products to lure businesses all across the world. It is really laudable step under the dynamic leadership of LG Manoj Sinha that Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted an expert committee to formulate a comprehensive Export Promotion Policy for identified potential exportable agricultural commodities. The aforesaid committee will work on developing commodity specific export promotion recommendations which inter alia shall include strategic and operational aspects of the export besides providing necessary technical inputs to the Agriculture Production Department. The government has given a big responsibility to the aforementioned committee for promoting J&K as a brand by exploring possibilities of uniqueness, organic production and flawless farming. It is likely that after the completion of work by the aforesaid committee, the farming community will be able to enjoy adequate export avenues to get best returns for their produce. This step shows the sincerity of LG Manoj Sinha towards empowering the farmers in J&K as never in the history of J&K any dispensation has taken so much of pain to deliver justice to tillers as in most of the cases, the successive governments took farmers as for granted and seldom took initiatives to uplift their conditions. The measure taken by the government is expected to add a new dimension to the agricultural economy of J&K and will prove to be a boon for those who produce ‘real gold’ from the soil by their sheer hard work and strong resolve.
