Amidst tight security arrangements, the first batch left from Bhagwati Nagar, the base camp in Jammu city, in the early hours of today for the darshan of Baba Barfani. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the batch amidst chants in the morning. He prayed for a happy and safe spiritual journey of the pilgrims. During this, Mayor of Jammu city Chandramohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor, senior BJP leader Devendra Rana, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, DC Jammu Avani Lavasa and other senior officers and members of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board were also present with him.
The first batch of 4,890 passengers in a convoy of 176 light and heavy vehicles left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp at around 4 am. The batch will officially depart for the holy cave tomorrow morning as the first batch on the traditional Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
With the arrival of thousands of Shiva devotees from across the country, the whole atmosphere has become devotional. Despite the scorching heat and humidity, there is great enthusiasm among the devotees.
Tight security arrangements have been made in Jammu and Kashmir in view of Amarnath Yatra. A team of security forces has also been sent along with more than three thousand pilgrims leaving for today, which will take them safely to the Kashmir Valley.
There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2022, which is being held after two years due to the Kovid epidemic. Thousands of devotees who reached Jammu have made the atmosphere of the city devotional. The shouts of Bam-Bam Bhole, Jai Baba Barfani are echoing across the city.
Immediate registration of pilgrims is being done at Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Hall Shalamar near Railway Station in Jammu. Similarly, immediate registration of hundreds of sadhus and saints is also being done in Shri Ram Mandir Purani Mandi. Sadhu saints also left with the pilgrims in the first batch from Jammu.
