District Legal Services Authority Jammu celebrated World Human Rights Day under the Chairmanship of its Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu R.K Wattal in the conference hall of District Court Complex, Janipur.
Among others Judicial Officers, Public Prosecutors, Addl. Public Prosecutors, Assistant Public Prosecutors, Advocates/Retainer Lawyers, Staff and Para Legal Volunteers were present on the occasion.
The programme started with the introductory note by Secretary DLSA Jammu Naushad Ahmed Khan on the United Nations Resolutions adopted on 10th of December, 1945 for universal declaration of Human Rights.
Chairman DLSA Jammu, R.K Wattal also threw light on the goals of celebrating the Human Rights Day specially the Rights of Women and to eradicate the poverty from the life of Human Being. He said every individual deserves to enjoy the basic Human Rights and advised the gathering that one should not violate these Rights and encourage vulnerable group of people like women, minorities, youth, and indigenous people to take parts in these type of events celebrations.
Member Secretary J&K Legal Services Authority M.K Sharma briefed about the types of Human Rights and said Human Rights are moral principles/norms and fundamental Rights that illustrate certain standards of Human behaviour and to which every individual is inherently entitled just because he or she is a Human being.
Addl. Sessions Judge Tahir Khursheed Raina exhorted that World Human Rights Day is Worldwide observance celebrated by people across the world to get real Rights for Human Beings.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Presiding Officer, MACT Jammu Kikar Singh Parihar, Assistant Professor The Law School, University of Jammu Dr. Monika Narang. The Proceedings of the Programme were conducted by Addl. Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Jammu Slahuddin Ahmed.
Besides this the day was also celebrated by DLSA Jammu at Tehsil Legal Services Committees Akhnoor, Bishnah, R.S Pura, Panchayat Halqas, Legal Literacy Clubs and Legal Aid Clinics of District Jammu Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Mubarkah Mandi, Govt. Hr. Secondary School Marh, Army School Akhnoor, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, Jammu with great zeal and enthusiasm.
