Mohan Lal and Akram Chowdhary took oath as Judge of Jammu& Kashmir and Ladakh High Court
JKUT (Jammu), November-09-2021-( JNF):- Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal today administered oath of office to two newly appointed judges of J&K High Court at a oath ceremony held in the Court Room of the Chief Justice here at High Court Complex.
The Judges who took oath are Justice Mohan Lal and Justice Akram Chowdhary.
Earlier Warrants of appointments of Justice Mohan Lal and Justice Akram Chowdhary was read by Jawad Ahmed Registrar General High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in English and Hindi.
With the oath of Justice Mohan Lal and Justice Akram Chowdhary, the strngeth of Common High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court raises to 13 including Chief Justice against the strength of 17.
Justice Sh. Mohan Lal Mannas was bom on 20-11-1961 at village Khellani Top Tehsil Bhalla (Bhaderwah) of Dislrict Doda. He did his early schooling and passed 10* class from Govt. High School Malolhi (Bhaderwah) Doda and did his further schooling from Govt. MX. Ranbir Higher Secondary School Jammu. He did his graduation (B.Sc) from GGM Science College Jammu and L.LB Professional from Jammu University in the year 1985. He was enrolled as an Advocate with J&K Bar Council in the year 1986 and started practicing at Jammu with Senior Advocate Sh. G.N. Goni. He got selected as Prosecuting Officer (P.O.) in the J&K Police Department in the year 1988’1989 and served as Prosecuting Officer (P.O.) till he joined as Munsiff JMIC in the year 1995. He was 1° posted as District Judicial Mobile Magistrate (DJMM) Doda and was promoted as Sub-Judge in the year 1997 and remained posted as Sub-Judge Auqauf Islamia, Sub-Judge Nowshera, Sub-Judge Kishtwar, Sub-Judge (Municipal Magistrate) Srinagar, CJM Udhampur and got promoted as District & Sessions Judge in the year 2007. He remained posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge Leh, 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge Jammu. Registrar Judicial J&K High Court wing Jammu, Principal District & Sessions Judge Kishtwar, Spf. Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar, Judicial Member J&K Spl. Tribunal Srinagar. Principal District & Sessions Judge Samba, Spl. Judge Anti-Corruption (CB1 Cases) Jammu. Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur and presently Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu w.e.f from April 2021 till date.
Justice Akram Chowdhary Born on 10th of June 1965 in village Thuroo, Tehsil Mahor of erstwhile District Udhampur (now Reasi); Received early education from Govt. High school Thuroo and Higher Secondary school Reasi ; Graduated from Govt. Moulana Azad Memorial College ,Jammu and did LLB Degree from University of Jammu in the year 1989; practiced law almost in all Courts, including High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh; appointed as civil judge Jr. Division/Munsiff in the year 1995 and promoted as District and Sessions judge in the year 2007 ;served in all the three divisions and to mention few was Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil and Budgam;J&K Eviction authority (wakafs); Principal District and Sessions Judge , Bandipora, Ramban, Anantnag, Samba, Kathua and Srinagar; Chairman J&K sales Tax Tribunal; Member secretary J&K State legal services authority.
