Advisor Farooq Khan takes stock of the progress made during the valley wide campaign

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 14: On the second day of Agriculture Department’s massive campaign under “National Mission on Edible Oils” to double the area under oilseeds, (Mustard), Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today chaired a  meeting to take stock of the progress made during this massive drive.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Khan said that the Government is determined to give thrust to the agriculture sector to boost the production and to improve the socio economic status of the farmers of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pertinent to mention this valley wide drive to double the area under oilseed is being supervised and monitored by Advisor Farooq Khan.

Advisor Khan reiterated the need for maximizing the reach of different initiatives by the Department. He asked the officers to implement different schemes in letter and spirit for the benefit of the farming community. He asked the officers and field functionaries to work with dedication, honesty and sincerity to create awareness with respect to various technological interventions and farmers welfare schemes.

Earlier Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal gave a detailed presentation of various activities organized during this valley wide massive campaign including awareness programs, interactive sessions, field visits, participation in sowing programs, bike and car rallies etc.
