JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Jagti Township and inspected facilities in Sub District Hospital, functioning of School and listened to grievances of the residents. The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Relief Commissioner T K Bhat; Director Social Welfare Jammu, Smita Sethi; ACR Jammu, Vijay Sharma; besides senior functionaries of Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD (R&B), FCS&CA, Health and other concerned officers. The Divisional Commissioner inspected patient care facilities in the Sub District Hospital in the township. He went around all the sections and enquired from the doctors present on duty about the facilities and medical infrastructure, equipments available in the hospital. The hospital administration apprised the Div Com about the staff strength including doctors, para-medics, besides diagnostic and treatment facilities being provided to the residents living in the township. The Div Com also enquired about the record of patients who have visited the hospital for treatment. He also asked for the patient referral mechanism adopted at the hospital. Expressing satisfaction over the strength of staff, building and medical infrastructure, the Div Com stressed on utilizing the services of doctors and staff effectively at the health facility. He directed the concerned to make the operation theatre functional as there is adequate staff available. Meanwhile, the Div Com took a round of different blocks of the township and inspected the facilities. He instructed the relief commissioner for executing repairs and renovation works of the building regularly and timely. Inspecting the stocks and supply position of ration at depot in the township, the Deputy Director FCS&CA apprised the Div Com about the availability of ration, per family allocations and other related issues. The locals demanded enhancement in the ration quota. The Div Com directed FCS&CA to explore the possibility of revising the per family quota. En-route, the Div Com visited Government Higher Secondary School established in the township and inspected the infrastructure available and development required there. He took a round of various sections of the school including computer Lab, science Laboratory, Smart Class room, play ground etc. The Div Com directed the concerned authorities for regular sanitation of the school besides bush cuttings of trees etc. Responding to the demand of the examination hall in the school, the Div Com directed the Principal to project the demand to secretary education. The Div Com visited Sports ground and directed the concerned officers for development of facilities in the ground so that local youth can avail the benefits. Later, the Div Com held a public grievances redressal camp at community hall and listened to the issues of the residents. The residents put forth their grievances and sought special recruitment package, enhancement in compensation amount, improved roads, water, power, health infrastructure, issue of inclusion of non-SECC families under the Ayushman Bharat/ JK-Sehat scheme, allocation of shops etc. The residents submitted written memorandums to the Div Com flagging various issues of public concern. They also flagged the issues of political reservation for KPs. The Div Com, while interacting with the people, assured them that all the genuine issues and demands projected by them would be looked into meticulously for their early redress. He issued on spot directions to the concerned departments for resolving issues related to water, power and roads etc. While speaking on the occasion, the Div Com said the UT Government is working on the agenda of equitable and holistic development to foster a new era of development in J&K. Welfare of every section of the society and each community, besides safeguarding the rights of the people of J&K is the topmost priority of the UT Government, he added.
