Advisor Baseer Khan conducts surprise inspection of various power stations and installations
Also visits various sites of power stations under progress
JAMMU, JUNE 23: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan today conducted surprise visit to various locations in Jammu to inspect the working of various power stations/ installations to find out the availability of staff and follow up action on number of instructions issued in the recently convened meeting by him. He also inspected various power installations where work is under progress.
The Advisor visited various locations including Chak Bhalwal, Sujad pur Kothey, Marh and Bhagwati Nagar. He was accompanied by MD JKPDCL, Chief Engineer JPDCL; Executive Engineer and other concerned officers.
While inspecting the power installations and works at these location, he inquired about the technical specifications and reviewed the overall functioning of power stations including staff strength, status of faults, power schedules, functioning of control rooms, complaint redress mechanism and repair of transforms. He physically inspected the inspection books of various officers for ensuring transparent and efficient power scenario in Jammu region.
He directed the officers concerned to regularly conduct inspections at stations and review the power scenario, complaint registration and action taken report should be send to the higher authorities giving all the details without any fail. He emphasized on the better delivery system and said consumer satisfaction should be the objective.
He also directed that the power curtailment schedules, if at all to be enforced in a particular area, should be put in public domain beforehand so that people know about the power curtailments in advance and plan their activities accordingly. He also emphasized need for regular checks and actions against the power thefts.
He also directed to ensure that power is provided within schedule that is already made public without any interruptions and no unwarranted power cuts should be made. Efficient power supply is the right of people and should be provided.
He said that the Lieutenant Governor is personally monitoring the power scenario on daily basis and the government has augmented the infrastructure to ensure that the uninterrupted power supply could be provided to the consumers as far as possible.
He also stressed on the need of constituting teams circle wise for conducting inspections to identify the illegal connections and power thefts. He said strict action against the violators should be taken.
The Advisor directed the officers to engage local public representatives of rural and urban areas for taking feedback on power supply and the ongoing power projects.
He also instructed the concerned officers to complete all the ongoing works within 15 days. MD JPDCL assured that all the ongoing works will be complete within the fixed timelines.
