KATHUA, 07MAY:
District Police kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh.RC Kotwal,JKPS,while acting against the illegal activities of bovine smugglers within the district,rescued 29bovines in the JD of P/S Kathua and Lakhanpur Police Station alongwith vehicles involved in commission of aforesaid crime were seized.
In the wee hours of 06-05-2021,A police team of PS Kathua while on Naka/Checking duty near NHW Sakta Chack noticed one suspicious vehicle (Mahindra Load Carrier) bearing Reg. No. Jk08B-8636 who was enrouted from Kathua towards Jammu and was signalled by said Naka/Checking party to stop for checking. On seeing naka party driver of said vehicle parked the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled away.
On physical checking 05Bovines were found loaded in it which were rescued by the police party and vehicle was seized, accordingly.
On this instant case vide FIR No.226/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA act has been registered in Kathua Police station and further investigation has been initiated.
While in another instance, another suspicious vehicle ( Mahinder load carrier)bearing Reg. no. JK08B-4980 was noticed by the Naka party on NHW Sakta Chack which was being driven by unknown person who was also signalled to stop for checking. Sensing danger the said driver parked the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled away. On checking 05 more bovines were rescued on spot alongwith vehicle seized.
By taking this cognizance another case vide FIR No. 227/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA act has been registered in Kathua Police Station and further investigation is under process.
In consequence, A Police team of P/S Lakhanpur in its jurisdictional area noticed one suspicious truck bearing Reg.No. JK02CC_7043 which was being driven by a driver namely Guru Ram S/o Karam Chand R/O Chack Mohd. Yar Tehsil, R S Pura, District Jammu who was accompanied by his accomplice person namely Safeer S/o Mohd. Rafiq R/o Noorkote Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch who were signalled to stop for checking.
During checking, 19more Bovines were found loaded on it illegally.Meanwhile all bovines were rescued alongwith accused were arrested on spot.
A case vide FIR No. 63/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered in Lakhanpur Police Station and further investigation has been taken up.
Thus, a total of 29 bovines were rescued by the Kathua Police within 24hours which were presumably being taken without a legal permission.
