Covid-19 vaccination drive to kick off on January 16 at B’pora

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today said that the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination shall start from January 16 from two centres of the district.

The DDC said this during a meeting of the District Level Task Force (DLTF) held here to review the arrangements for smooth implementation of plan formulated as per guidelines issued by the Government.

Dr Owais reviewed the preparedness including the status of logistics and manpower required to assist the teams of the health department for vaccination and finalized the arrangements to be put in place for smooth conduct of the vaccination programme.

 

 

The DDC informed that two centers at Hajin and Sumbal have been established for the inauguration purpose on January 16th.

He added that 109 vaccination sites have also been identified across the district and in the first phase 35 vaccination centres will be functional during which health and frontline workers shall be vaccinated.

Dr Owais directed the member departments to depute their officials immediately for training and awareness on January 15. He said that an online database has been prepared for the health workers and efforts are being made to ensure complete coverage of health workers for immunization under the first phase.

The meeting was informed that each vaccination centre shall comprise of five members including two vaccinators, Security Officer and a Data Entry Operator and the Phase-I shall be completed in ten days.

On the occasion, DDC directed for constitution of Emergency Response teams that shall include a doctor and a paramedic for quick response to any exigency. He also directed to keep the District level Control Room active so as to attend any grievance of the people.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Bashir Ahmad, Chief Education Officer Javid Iqbal, Dy.CEO, BMO Bandipora and Deputy Superintendent of Police besides other senior officers of the district.
