On the occasion of ‘International Human Rights Day’ Govt. Degree college Nowshera organized an online National level Essay Writing competition on 10/12/2020 with the aim of enlightening the students about the human rights. Every year a theme is selected to observe this day to make people aware of their fundamental human rights as well as their responsibilities as a part of society. The theme of this year was “Recover Better -Stand Up For Human Rights” The students of various colleges and universities of different states participated in the event with great zeal and fervor.
Palvi Sharma from GDC NOWSHERA and Lepakshi Verma from GDC Samba secured Ist position, Nasreen Akhter from GDC NOWSHERA and Nandini Thakur of SVS College, Rajouri secured second position whereas Priya Verma GDC Samba and Anoo Radha of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Punjab got Third position.
The event was organized by Dr. Bandana Thakur, Department of Hindi under the guidance and supervision of the Worthy Principal Dr. Surinder Sharma. The event was judged by Dr. Saleem Ahmad Yatoo (Department of E.V.S), Dr. Rubeenah Akhtar (Department of Economics) and Madhu Bala (Department of English).
