Ravinder Raina said that Modi Government is committed to provide best health facilities, both in Jammu & Srinagar regions. It is matter of happiness that the Union Territory of J&K has been allocated two AIIMS, one at Vijaypur in Samba District, Jammu & the second one at Awantipora in Pulwama District, Srinagar, under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). These revolutionary health projects worth Rs 4000 Crore are expected to be dedicated to the people of J&K by August 2022.
Ravinder Raina further said, not just the two AIIMS, but nine medical colleges have also been sanctioned in J&K by the Modi Government. The prime agenda of the Modi Government is to ensure the people of J&K should get the best of medical facilities in the vicinity & thus avoid travelling to other parts of the country for treatment. Modi Government has also sanctioned a Cancer Institute in Srinagar. The project cost is almost 120 Crore Rupees.
To Better the health facilities in the state, so they run in the most efficient way, the government will induct over 1000 medical officers in the Union Territory. This will not only improve the functioning of health facilities but will also ensure employment to the youth of J&K.
J&K has made considerable improvement in the health sector over the years as the Union Territory has better parameters than the corresponding national average on various fronts. The UT has also been successful in bringing down the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) by eight points from 34 to 26 in a single year which is the highest among all states. Jammu & Kashmir is also a prominent beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Ravinder Raina expressed confidence that the people of Jammu & Kashmir will certainly “vote for development & not corrupt governance”, of which they have been a victim for decades.
