The largest Solar Project at a high altitude in the entire Leh –Ladakh UT has been established by Air Force Station Leh. On the concept of “Make-in-India” of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, the project was conceptualized and executed to provide sustainable energy alternate to fossil fuel and traditional method.
The project namely “Provision of solar Photo Voltaic Power Plant 1.5 MW at Air force Station Leh” has been completed within 12 months (Actual 09 Months of working season) well before the completion deadline i.e. 31 Mar 2021.
It is the largest installed solar project till date out of the target of 300MW in three phase for Defence sectors and 14 MW for Leh region as set by GOI, Ministry of New and renewable energy. This project costs 122.00 Cr. The Project has recently been inaugurated by Air Marshal V R Chaudhari Air officer Commanding in Chief, Western Air Command at Air Force Station Leh.
