Continuing the drive to provide more development & civic amenities to the People of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Sh. Narinder Singh Councillor of ward no: 70 today on 26.11.2020 conducted an extensive tour in the different areas of the ward (Sainik Colony) and kick started the renovation / re-modeling of Nallah flowing near Matador Stand at Sector F Sainik Colony Jammu.
Sh. Parmod Singh Chib Ward President, Sh. Umesh Sharma Executive Member, Sardar Surinder Singh, Sadar Jujjar Singh, Sh. Dilbagh Singh Jasrotia, Sh Ajesh Gupta, Sh. Surinder Singh Manhas, Sh. Ram Singh & other prominent inhabitants of the Ward as well as Sh. Ashwani Kumar Executive Engineer, Sh, Khalid Iqbal Assistant Executive Engineer, Mohd Yasin Junior Engineer of Division IV were also accompanied the Mayor during the function which was held in a very simple manner keeping in view the corona virus guidelines. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the locals as well as shopkeepers of the locality as due to dilapidated condition of the said Nallah it often remains blocked & has become a breeding place for mosquitoes, dirty water overflows & creates unhygienic condition in the whole area and public especially children and senior citizens have been facing great hardships while passing through the locality.
Mayor said that Sh. Narinder Singh Councillors of the ward have taken a lot of initiatives & finally succeeded in getting this much needed renovation work of Nallah having 260 meters length which started today by the Engineering Section of JMC with an estimated cost of Rs. 8.57 lakh only and directed concerned contractors / Engineers to complete the work within stipulated time frame by applying best quality construction material for its long durability and upto the satisfaction of locals.
Inhabitants present on the occasion did a lot of gratitude to the Mayor & Councillor for taking keen interest towards this development work which will provide great relief to them & passersby after its completion. They also put forth other issues which includes, construction / renovation of left over drains / lanes, installation of LED Street Lights in the remaining areas of the ward, lifting of stray dogs / animals from the roadside & various lanes of the Sainik Colony on routine basis, deployment of field staff / mallies for beautification / better maintenance of different parks of the locality etc.
Mayor listened to them with great patience and assured that all their genuine issued will be resolved on priority basis.
He further said that Jammu Municipal Corporation has already taken up the job for providing best possible basic / development facilities to the Citizens in every ward of the city in terms of commissioning of Open Air GYMs, installation of fountains in different rotaries of the City, installation of LED Street Lights in the City & various other projects which were in pipe line since long & appeal to the General Public to come forward, cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development works being undertaken by the department, do not use single used plastics / polythene carry bags in their routine life, remove the illegal encroachments from the public drains / Nallahas if done at their own level, adopt the habit of segregation of dry / wet waste so that Jammu can be made neat, clean, green & Smart City.
