The police today used force to foil the protest March by a large number of senior Congress leaders and activists including mahila workers, when they were forcibly prevented by the police from proceeding towards Tawi Bridge today from Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, to lodge their protest, seeking resignation of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, over the barbaric gang rape and murder of young girl at Hathras and the shameful conduct of UP Govt. and police in the case as well the assault on the Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi yesterday.
After Shradhanjli Smaroh to celebrate 151st Gandhi jyanti and birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bhadur shastri , at Shaheedi Chowk, the senior Congress leader announced to hold one hour satyagreh and to take out protest March over the issue of barbaric gang rape and murder incident at Hathras and the police assault on the national leadership of the congress party, to prevent them meeting the parents of the victim girl yesterday. They also registered their protest against the three farm laws against the interests of farmers in the country and termed Modi Govt. against farmers and total failure in preventing atrocities against women.
The heavy contingent of police resorted to mild lathicharge and forcibly prevented the congress activists to proceed ahead of residency road and after minor scuffle the senior Congress leaders pacified the mahila Congress and other agitated workers to disperse after registering their strong protest over the most inhumane and brutal attack on the young girl by gang rape, and murder and the total shielding of criminals by the UP police and cremation of the body by the police during darkness against all Hindu rituals and customs without showing the body to the parents.

Earlier, the congress leaders and others paid rich tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadur Shastri and remembered their contributions in the freedom struggle and building of modern India.
The speakers remembered Mahatma Gandhi under whose leadership the congress party achieved freedom of the nation through non violence and the day is remembered at non violence day by United nations. The crores of the countrymen suffered and sacrificed for the freedom.
Lal Bhadur shastri gave the slogan of Jai jawan Jai Kissan and brought green revolution in the country and made it self sufficient in food.
The speakers lashed out at the Modi government for the silence over the Jungle Raj in UP under yogi Raj and the culprits were shielded by the government for the henious crime of gang rape and murder of Dalit girl in Hathras. Seeking resignation of chief ministe yogi adityanath, they strongly condemned the attack on on the national leadership of the party and the murderous assault on Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in UP when they were proceeding to meet the family of the rape and murder victim.
The congress leaders also blamed Modi government for the farm laws and alleged that farmers would be deprived of the fair rates of their produce and would become farm labourers in the hands of capitalists and rich people. The farmers would be exploited under new regime and extended full support to the struggle of the crores of farmers all over the country.
Several prominent leaders of the party participated in the functions and the protest March.
