Navy Commandos are likely to join the search operation on Saturday to retrieve the body of a minor boy who was drowned in river Jehlum on Wednesday in the border town of Uri in this north Kashmir, official sources said.
They said a 12-year-old boy identified as Shahid Ahmad, son of Late Noor Mohammad, a resident of Nowshera Uri was drowned in the river Jehlum while taking a bath on Wednesday.
However, despite massive rescue operation launched by police and locals the body of Shahid could not be retrieved. They said the operation is being resumed every morning after remaining suspended since Wednesday without any success, they said.
Now the administration has sought help from Navy, posted at Manasbal in Bandipora district in north Kashmir, to fish out the body of Shahid, they said adding the Navy Commandos are expected to join the search operation today.
