Security forces on Wednesday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) after militants hurled a hand grenade towards a naka party in Pulwama town in south Kashmir, official sources said.
They said militants lobbed a hand grenade towards a security force naka party near fire station in main town Pulwama today. However, grenade missed the intended target and exploded without causing any damage. Security forces fired some rounds in the air, they said but the militants managed to escape.
Panic gripped in the town after hearing the loud explosion due to grenade blast and firing shots, they said adding people ran helter-skelter.
Security forces and police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and sealed entire area to conduct CASO, they said adding no one was arrested.
