DGP visits Udhampur, Kishtwar, Ramban

Jammu and Kashmir Police has time and again proveitself by tackling multiple challenges and we need to continue working in this direction with positive approach to deal with any challenge in future also. This was stated by the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh during his visit to district Udhampur and district Kishtwar today.

He chaired officers meetings to review the security scenario, law & order, crime cases. He inaugurated Aman Memorial, Open Air Gymnasium, Model Naka and Conference Hall in Kishtwar.

On his arrival at Udhampur the DGP was received by IGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Shri Sujit Kumar, SSP Udhampur Ms Sargun Shukla. Ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the DGP on his arrival at DPL Udhampur.

Chairing the officers meeting in District Police Lines Udhampur the DGP lauded the police personnel for accepting and tackling multiple challenges time and again. He said that the enthusiasm of working with devotion and dedication into the right direction for the peace in the Union Territory, for the people and for the welfare of our jawans have to be continued with more energy in future also.

The DGP appreciated the good work on NDPS cases particularly organic drugs on the highways and recovery of stolen property despite COVID-19 threat. He stressed on enhancing the functioning of Model nakas and added that these model nakas should function round the clock with good infrastructure like CCTV cameras, good strength of personnel with all basic facilities for living. He directed the officers to prepare teams to trace the absconders.

While discussing crime cases the DGP directed the officers to take stringent action against all those people involved in heinous crimes and added that those involved in drug trafficking should be booked under PSA. He also directed supervisory officers to ensure effective supervision for quality investigation. He said that to secure the future of youth and safety of women all necessary measures already taken need to be strengthened.

The DGP appreciated the role played by all ranks of the department to contain the spread of Corona Virus and the efforts put in to work tirelessly in dealing all challenges despite the threat posed by the COVID-19 to humanity.

The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Shri Sujit Kumar, DIG SKR Shri Atul Goel, SSP Udhampur Ms Sargun Shukla, ASP Udhampur Shri Rajinder Katoch and other gazetted officers of the district.

SSP Udhampur Ms Sargun Shukla along with DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Shri Sujit Kumar gave a detailed PowerPoint Presentation regarding the present security scenario and crime cases of Udhampur District to the DGP J&K and other officers.

Later in the afternoon the DGP J&K visited district Kishtwar. He was accompanied by IGP Jammu. The DGP was received by SSP Kishtwar Shri Harmeet Singh Mehta and other officers.

The DGP inaugurated Aman Memorial at DPO Kishtwar built in the memory of Martyr Dysp Aman Thakur, who made supreme sacrifice of his life in the line of duty in February 2019 while fighting terrorists in district Kulgam. He also presented a photo frame of the martyr to his brother and said that the nation is indebted to the sacrifice of the brave son of the soil who will always be remembered.

At TRC Kishtwar the DGP inaugurated Open Air Gymnasium for the local people of district Kishtwar. The gym is equipped with NKS Sit Board Double station, Air Walker-Air Stroller, Chest Press outdoor GYM Equipment, Two Wheel LT-26, Twister-Outdoor Gym Equipment, and Leg Press, for the exercise of different parts of the body.

The DGP also inaugurated Conference Hall at District Police Lines Kishtwar and Model Naka at Thathri.

While interacting with the senior officers on the sidelines of the inauguration the DGP congratulated the Range Police Headquarter DKR and district Police Kishtwar for completing the Aman Memorial, Open Air Gymnasium and also for adding assets like Conference Hall and security measures like model Nakas .

The DGP appreciated the efforts of the police personnel in maintaining peace and order in the region along with other Security Forces.

The DGP emphasised that to maintain the peaceful environment security is to be strengthened at all levels with joint efforts of all security forces and to ensure that elements inimical to peace are not given any chance to disturb peace.

IGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh, Brig 9 RR Shri Vikram Bhan, DC Kishtwar Shri Rajinder Singh Tara, SSP Kistwar Harmeet Singh Mehta, CO IRP 22 Battalion Shri Shivdeep Singh, DySP DAR DPL Kishtwar, DySP Hqrs Kistwar and other jurisdictional officers were present during these inaugurations and review meeting.

DGP later visited Delta Force Hqrs where he had detailed interaction with the GOC, DIG Doda Kishtwar Ramban, SSP Ramban and other territorial officers regarding security scenario and highway security measures. He also visited and inaugurated newly set up model Naka at Nashri.
