2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu VS Bhou today awarded life-impriosnment to eight accused namely Romesh Singh, Tilak Raj, Suram Singh sons of Sat Pal residents of Dayaran Tehsil & District Jammu, Balwan Singh son of Saran Singh resident of Pakkhian Tehsil & District Jammu, Raghubir Singh son of Sardari Singh resident of Marjali Tehsil and District Jammu, Mangal Singh alias Manga son of Bhagat Singh resident of Gorkha Nagar Tehsil & District, Jammu, Manohar Lal alias Kala son of Devi Singh resident of Harkund Falora Tehsil & District Jammu and Tilak Raj alias Radhey son of Hans Raj Sharma resident of Kangrail Tehsil and District Jammu in murder case over land dispute.
2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammi VS Bhou also awarded two years imprisonment to Bharat Bhushan and Naresh Kumar for conspiracy.
This is case of an old enmity over land dispute between the deceased and accused persons 1 to 3 led to an unsavoury incident, which ultimately resulted in death of Bodh Raj (hereinafter referred to as deceased). Prosecution story is that on 29-06-2006, an oral report was lodged with Police of Police Station Kana Chak by PW Darshna Devi, informant along with PW- Reena Kumari and PW- Charan Singh alleging that at about 7:00 PM when she was sitting in her veranda, accused, namely, 1. Ramesh Singh @ Meshi 2. Suram Singh 3.Tilak Raj all sons of Satpal R/O Dayaran, 4. Raghubir Singh R/O Mishriwala 5. Balwan Singh S/O Shiv Saran R/O Pakhian 6. Tilak Raj @ Radhe S/O Hans Raj R/o Kangrail and 7. Manohar Lal @ Kala S/O Gillu R/O Karloop, who were having enmity with the deceased Bodh Raj over some land, armed with Tokas, a Sword and gun in their hands, trespassed the house of the informant and entered the veranda of their house and attacked the deceased and inflicted blows with the alleged weapons thereby injuring him grievously and when the deceased tried to save himself and ran inside the room, he was dragged and again attacked by accused persons and after raising alarm by the informant accused fled from the spot. on the basis of this report F.I.R bearing no. 81/2006 dated 29-06-2006 was lodged for offences under sections 307/147/148/149/452 R.P.C read with 3/25,4/25 Arms Act with the police station Kana Chak, Jammu. However, the deceased died on way to hospital, as such, offence under section 302 R.P.C was added. JNF
