Continuing his Endeavour to provide better civic and development amenities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta , Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 23/07/2020 inaugurated the functioning of water cooler at Patta Paloura Akhnoor road near BSF School of ward no.61 Sh. Mohinder Kumar Bhagat concerned councilor of the ward, Sh. Ravi Verma General Secretary of OBC Morcha J&K unit & others alongwith Sh. Rakesh Kumar Junior Engineer, Sh. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Sanitary Inspector & other field staff of JMC were also present during the inauguration function which was held in a very simple manner. Mayor told that there was dire need of pure drinking water facility in this particular area as large number of devotees visits at Mata Baghla Mukhi temple for paying obeisance . Moreover there are about three to four number of schools in the surrounding areas and children passes through the area & even waits here for availing transportation in the hot & humid conditions and after the commissioning of water cooler they can also be benefitted in a lot way. Mayor further said the concerned councilor has personally taken the initiative in installing the water cooler at this particular site. Besides this, mayor announced that on the demands of the locals & Hon’ble councilor concerned division of engineering section has been directed to install beautiful stainless steel benches for the public as well as restoration/rectification of stairs/bathing ghat on the bank of the Ranbir canal passing through this locality.
He told that Jammu Municipal Corporation has already started the work of installation of water coolers in each ward of the city for the convenience of general public and also appeal to them to come forward & cooperate with the department in various other development activities being undertaken by JMC, adopt the habit of segregation of dry & wet waste, donot use single used plastic/polythene in their routine life, avoid throwing polythene/garbage in the ranbir canal so that Jammu can be made really a smart city.
