Criticizing ‘men in uniform for filming and broadcasting the misery of a three-year-old toddler to the whole world’, former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah said everything becomes a propaganda tool in the bloody violence in Kashmir.
Mr Abdullah was responding to circulation of a video and photographs of a toddler, who was accompanying his grandfather, killed in a brief encounter that left a CRPF jawan dead and three others injured in Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, family members of the victim alleged that he was brought down from his vehicles and killed by security forces, an allegation that has been denied by police.
“We would have expected no less from the men in uniform than to rescue the young boy and for that they have our gratitude but we would expect better than for them to film and use a three-year-old’s pain the way it’s being done today,” Mr Abdullah, Vice President of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

“Everything becomes a propaganda tool in the bloody violence in Kashmir. A three year old toddler has to have his misery broadcast to the whole world to drive home the “we good they bad” message. We would have got the point without his misery being filmed & shared so please don’t,” he tweeted.
A CRPF jawan and a civilian were killed while three other personnel were injured in a militant attack on security forces patrolling partyat Sopore in Baramulla on Wednesday.
