Reviewing over all security situation in south Kashmir, where more than 30 militants were killed in different encounters during the past about one month, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday said despite many challenges, personnel of police and other security agencies are working professionally to eliminate threats to peace from various Pakistan sponsored terrorist outfits and subversive agencies.
Jammu and Kashmir police and other security forces are working in tandem against militancy, DGP said during his visit to Pulwama and Shopian in south Kashmir today, a police spokesman said this evening.
Accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, the DGP took a darbar and interacted with the Jawans of police and CRPF at Districrt Police Line Pulwama.
While interacting with the police personnel, the DGP appreciated the role of officers and jawans for tackling the ground situation effectively even in the face of a big challenge of coronavirus. He said that despite many challenges, personnel of police and other security forces are working professionally to eliminate threats to peace from various Pakistan sponsored terrorist outfits and subversive agencies.
The DGP lauded the synergic efforts of security forces and police personnel in bringing down drastically the number militants and their associates thereby providing relief to the people of these districts who have been victim of militant violence. He appreciated the efforts of police and other security forces for their professionalising handling law and order situations effectively along with flattening the graph of terror violence considerably.
Referring to recent successful anti-militant operations, the DGP appreciated prompt and coordinated action of security forces and added that we need to continue our sustained anti-militant operations to put an end to the Pak sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir police and other security forces are working hard to bring an enduring peace to this beautiful place and people who have suffered from long years of terror violence due to Pakistan anti people and anti peace nefarious designs.
He said that repeated attempts of Pakistan to disturb peace in J&K further strengthens our resolve to counter its agenda of death and destruction against the people.
While interacting with the officers, the DGP stressed the need for cohesive action to enforce constant vigil on anti-national elements, effectively maintaining internal security and ensuring the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir. The DGP directed the officers to make optimum use of all available resources and ensure coordinated action on the ground for providing prompt and strong counter terror responses on all fronts.
The DGP stressed upon the officers for effective domination in area based on analysis as also joint patrolling to keep the activities of suspicious elements under surveillance.
The officers of police and CRPF apprised the DGP about the security scenario, law and order, crime control, community policing and anti-terror operation in their respective jurisdictions.
Earlier DGP attended the wreath laying ceremony of the martyred HC Kale Sunil at RTC Humhama alongside other officers and jawans of police and CRPF.
He paid rich tribute to the martyred soldier and conveyed his deep condolences to the bereaved family. During visit to Pulwahma where the CRPF jawan got martyred this morning during a counter militant operation, DGP other officers and jawans observed 3 minutes of silence after paying tribute to the martyred HC.
He said the cost we pay for peace and stability is recognised by the grateful nation and its people.
