
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a Mega Block Diwas-cum-Public Outreach Programme at Panchayat Nonath in Sub-Division Ghagwal to listen the grievances, developmental concerns of local residents and ensure their prompt redressal.
During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to various issues raised by the public regarding water scarcity, power supply, road connectivity and other basic amenities. Assuring the people of timely resolution of all genuine concerns, she directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to take immediate necessary action to address the issues highlighted during the outreach programme.
Several public grievances were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued to the concerned officers to formulate an effective action plan for the early redressal of pending issues, particularly those related to water and power supply in view of the prevailing summer season.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner handed over the keys of a Milk ATM along with a vehicle under the Integrated Dairy Development Programme (HADP). Sponsored by the Animal Husbandry Department, the project has been established with a total subsidy of ₹9.46 lakh under the 50 percent subsidy component in favour of Jagdish Lal, a resident of Sanoora.
The Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated two Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) of 500-litre capacity each along with two 5 KVA generator sets established under the JKCIP Scheme with a total subsidy of ₹12 lakh under the 100 percent subsidy component. The units have been sanctioned in favour of SHGs Mata Vaishno and Om Namah Shivay of Nonath.
Appreciating the efforts of the Animal Husbandry Department in promoting dairy entrepreneurship and strengthening rural livelihood opportunities, the Deputy Commissioner urged youth and Self Help Groups to avail themselves of the benefits of various Government welfare schemes including HADP, Mission YUVA and Financial Inclusion initiatives, for socio-economic upliftment and livelihood generation.
Acknowledging the support of general public, the Deputy Commissioner also called upon Mahila Nigrani Samitis and Youth Clubs to play a proactive role in spreading awareness against drug abuse and supporting the District Administration and Police in eradicating the drug menace from society.
The programme was attended by SDM Ghagwal, CPO Samba, CMO Samba, CEO Samba, Executive Engineers of various departments, Tehsildar Ghagwal, BDO Ghagwal, District Officers and other concerned stakeholders, besides public representatives, members of Self Help Groups and a large number of local residents.
