DDC Rajouri chairs Public Outreach Camp at Panchayat Siot Upper Assures redressal of public grievances

District Development Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a Public Outreach Camp at Panchayat Siot Upper to listen to the public grievances and review developmental requirements of the area.

 

The outreach programme witnessed active participation from senior district officers, sectoral heads and a large number of local residents, who projected various issues and demands related to infrastructure, education, healthcare and basic amenities.

 

Among the major demands highlighted by the public were renovation of roads from Siot to Bajwal, Bakhar to Channi, Khui Teri and Peer Khana, bus service between Sunderbani to Rajouri and vice versa besides the upgrading of Channi Mella road. The residents also demanded construction of check dams at Bakhar, augmentation of drinking water supply, upgradation of Higher Secondary School Siot, filling up of vacancies in medical and educational institutions and strict action against illegal mining activities in the area.

 

The DDC patiently listened to the grievances and demands projected by the people and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for prompt redressal of genuine issues. He assured the public that all legitimate concerns would be taken up in a phased manner and every effort would be made to ensure balanced and inclusive development of the area.

 

The DDC emphasized the importance of close coordination between the administration and the public for effective implementation of welfare and developmental initiatives. He also directed officers to undertake regular field visits and ensure timely disposal of public grievances.

 

On the occasion, different government departments installed awareness stalls showcasing various beneficiary-oriented schemes and programmes aimed at sensitizing the public about government welfare initiatives and services.

 

Concerned officers also responded one by one to the issues and demands raised by the public and apprised the gathering about the measures being taken for their resolution, ongoing developmental works and future action plans in their respective sectors.

 

Besides, a Self-Enumeration Booth under Census 2027 was also set up to facilitate and educate the public about the ongoing self-enumeration process and encourage wider participation in the national exercise.
