
REASI, MAY 14: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review applications submitted under Mission YUVA through the Skill and Business Development Unit.
During the meeting, the committee conducted a detailed scrutiny and evaluation of the applications, following which 241 cases were approved for financial assistance and institutional support under the programme.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the JK Bank authorities to ensure expeditious processing and timely disbursement of all approved cases so that the beneficiaries can establish their enterprises at the earliest. He also instructed the concerned departments to create new batches for entrepreneurship and skill development programmes and stressed that no training centre should remain inactive.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner chaired another meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM) in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the registration progress under the scheme and assessed the performance of the concerned departments and agencies involved in its implementation.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that workers in the unorganised sector in the age group of 18 to 40 years are eligible to register under the PM-SYM scheme. He directed the officers to intensify outreach activities and ensure maximum coverage of eligible beneficiaries, particularly labourers, street vendors, agricultural workers, construction workers and others engaged in the unorganised sector. He stressed the importance of creating widespread awareness among unorganised workers about the benefits of the pension scheme.
Emphasising close coordination among all stakeholders for effective implementation of the scheme, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to regularly monitor the progress to achieve the targets within the stipulated time frame.
Among others, ADDC Krishan Lal, ALC Sanjay Bhat, CMO, CEO and other concerned officers were present in the meetings.
