BANDIPORA, MAY 04: A series of activities including a girls’ volleyball match, plantation drive and sports kit distribution were organised at Higher Secondary School Mantrigam under the aegis of Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP HEW, Mission Shakti Bandipora under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.
The programme aimed at promoting holistic development, awareness and empowerment among girl students through sports and community participation.
The girls’ volleyball match witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and promoted teamwork, discipline and physical fitness. A plantation drive was also carried out within the school premises with active involvement of staff and students to spread awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability.
On the occasion, Sports kits were distributed among girl students to encourage active participation in sports activities, particularly among students from underprivileged backgrounds. Pamphlets highlighting various government schemes and women empowerment initiatives were also distributed during the programme.
An awareness session was conducted on the services provided by SANKALP HEW Hub, emphasising the importance of sports, environmental awareness and informed decision-making in the overall development of students.
The programme concluded with felicitation of the winning and runner-up teams of the volleyball match, while PT teachers were appreciated for their dedicated efforts.
The event was attended by officials of SANKALP HEW, besides the school staff and students.
