KULGAM, MAY 04: Promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening grassroots economic development, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today inaugurated a Grocery Mart at Yaripora.
The unit has been established by beneficiary, Asif Amin Bhat with an investment of Rs 35 lakh, under the ambitious Mission YUVA (MSME), aimed at fostering self-employment and empowering local youth.
Further enhancing its market outreach, the business has also been registered on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform, enabling digital access and wider customer connectivity.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the entrepreneurial initiative of the beneficiary and emphasized the importance of integrating traditional businesses with digital platforms like ONDC to expand market opportunities and ensure sustainable growth.
Speaking on the occasion, he added that the administration’s commitment to providing continuous handholding support to entrepreneurs under Mission YUVA and other government initiatives.
He encouraged youth to avail such schemes and actively contribute towards building a self-reliant economy.
The event was attended by officers from the district administration, officials associated with Mission YUVA, and members of the local community.
