
BUDGAM, APRIL 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today undertook an extensive field visit across multiple locations along the alignment of the Ring Road project, reviewing the progress of Ring Road Phase-I, the proposed Airport and Railway Station connectivity.
The tour commenced from near NH44 Galandar, and covered various critical stretches and points along the Ring Road corridor, including sections falling under Phase-I, till Narbal including Khanda, Wathoora, Gadsathu, Ichkoot, Razwan, Dharmuna, Narbal.
The DC was accompanied by ACR Budgam, Superintending Engineer R&B Circle Budgam, senior officers, and key stakeholders, including representatives of NHAI and executing agencies.
During the visit, the DC conducted on-site inspections at multiple work locations, taking a segment-wise review of the progress achieved across different reaches of the project. At each site, the DC assessed the pace of execution, quality of works, and adherence to timelines, while also reviewing technical aspects of alignment, land availability, and infrastructure readiness.
The DC was apprised about the proposals of Airport and Railway Station connectivity.
Emphasizing the importance of the project, the DC stated that the Ring Road and its allied links are transformational infrastructure initiatives that will significantly enhance connectivity across kashmir valley including Budgam and adjoining areas, reduce travel time, and decongest existing routes.
While moving across different sections of the project, the DC directed executing agencies to ensure that construction activities are carried out in a manner that minimizes inconvenience to commuters and local residents, particularly in populated and high-traffic stretches.
He stressed the need for proper traffic regulation, diversions, and safety arrangements at all active work sites.
At several locations along the route, the DC also reviewed issues related to execution and instructed concerned officers to resolve bottlenecks on priority, ensure seamless coordination among departments, and maintain uniform progress across all segments of the project.
The DC further directed that all works must adhere to high-quality standards, with proper drainage systems, road safety features, and environmental safeguards incorporated throughout the alignment. He stressed regular monitoring and accountability to ensure timely completion.
